Open source
Everything is in one MIT-licensed repository: the analysis engine, the command line tool, the MCP server, the Claude Code and Codex plugin, the editor app and an API you can host yourself. You need a model key but no account with us.
Command line
Needs Node 18 or newer and a key for one provider.
# one provider key is enough
export GROQ_API_KEY=...
npx @prosodeus/cli report draft.md --output report.html # heatmap, open in a browser
npx @prosodeus/cli analyze draft.md # summary in the terminal
npx @prosodeus/cli constrain draft.md # constraints for your own LLM
npx @prosodeus/cli rewrite draft.md --output draft.v2.md # rewrite with your model
npx @prosodeus/cli compare draft.md draft.v2.md # did it improve? --passage 4:9 limits constrain and rewrite to a
sentence range. --style compares against a style guide. Under Node the
classification cache is off; run under Bun to keep it.
Claude Code and Codex plugin
The same plugin installs in both. slop-scan diagnoses a text, slop-fix
rewrites what it found, and slop-verify compares the result with the original.
# Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add wisdomousai/prosodeus
/plugin install prosodeus@prosodeus
# Codex
codex plugin marketplace add wisdomousai/prosodeus
codex plugin add prosodeus@prosodeus
The plugin starts the MCP server, which reads a provider key from the environment of the
host process, for example GROQ_API_KEY.
MCP server
Start it with npx -y @prosodeus/mcp and pick the provider with
PROSODEUS_PROVIDER. It exposes these tools:
screen_text: analyze a text and return a profilegenerate_constraints: structural constraints and a rewrite instructionrewrite_passage: rewrite with before and after metricsverify_rewrite: compare an original with a revisionlist_style_guidesandget_style_guide
Editor app
The editor shows the heatmap, an inspector and a rewrite panel. The desktop app keeps documents on your machine and encrypts provider keys with the system keychain.
git clone https://github.com/wisdomousai/prosodeus
cd prosodeus && bun install
bun run dev # app on :5173, local API on :8788
bun run dev:desktop # the same, inside the Electron shell Desktop builds are unsigned for now. To run the API on Cloudflare with Postgres, see the self-hosting guide. Note that a self-hosted API has no authentication until you configure it.
Models
You supply the key. Set the variable for one provider.
| Provider | Name | Environment |
|---|---|---|
| Groq (default) | groq | GROQ_API_KEY |
| Mistral | mistral | MISTRAL_API_KEY |
| DeepInfra | deepinfra | DEEPINFRA_API_KEY |
| Cloudflare Workers AI | workers-ai | AI_API_KEY, CLOUDFLARE_ACCOUNT_ID |
| Claude (CLI only) | claude | a Claude Code login |
OpenAI, Gemini and Moonshot models are available in the desktop app only. Text you analyze goes to the provider you choose and nowhere else.
Contributing
We take bug fixes, corrections to the hit lists and new rewrite guidance. Read the contributing guide first, because some files are generated and should not be edited by hand.
